IBFM Summer Intensive
(Monday, July 20 - Friday, August 7, 2026)

Since 1996, the International Ballet Festival of Miami has brought together dancers and audiences from around the world in celebration of artistic excellence. In 2019, we expanded this vision to include our Summer Intensive, offering young dancers the opportunity to train within the energy and prestige of an international festival. For the first time, the program is now open to experienced beginners to advanced dancers, ages 8–18. Through a unique combination of world-class instruction, international exposure, and performance opportunities, the Intensive provides an unparalleled environment for artistic and technical growth.

The Intensive takes generally place from mid-July through the first week of August, with the option to participate in either 2 weeks or the full 3-week program (by audition approval). During the third week, students may have the opportunity to train alongside principal dancers and soloists from leading classical and contemporary companies from around the world, offering a rare level of professional exposure at a young age.

This program is designed for dedicated dancers seeking to elevate their technique in a structured, inspiring, and supportive environment. Students are placed according to age and level, allowing each dancer to grow at their own pace while being challenged appropriately.

Curriculum includes:

  • Ballet Technique

  • Pointe

  • Variations

  • Contemporary

  • Jazz

  • Group Choreography

  • Dance History

  • Physical Conditioning

  • Weeks 2: Continued training along with performances in the three shows throughout Miami. Select students will also perform their variations.

  • Week 3: Continued training and the opportunity to attend festival galas featuring international guest artists

Each student receives a complimentary ticket for themselves and one guardian to attend all festival performance. This includes classical gala performances. The weekly schedule may vary as it follows the performances of the International Ballet Festival of Miami. Please see our Calendar of Events for more information.

Students will train with a diverse faculty of internationally recognized teachers and artists, gaining exposure to a variety of teaching styles, techniques, and artistic perspectives. This immersive experience allows dancers to expand not only their technique, but also their understanding of the global dance community.
